What You Need To Start Your Own Online Business
You Need 7 things:
1. Clearly Defined Goals
2. Willingness To Learn and Open Mindedness to Try New Things.
3. Time – Limit Distractions
4. “Mindset Shifts” – Employee To Entrepreneur
5. Perseverance
6. Have The Courage To Just Do It.
7. Learn To Accept Failure
Ok, I lied. You only need one thing:
Passion
To be more specific, a passion for both money and the business you are into. With these you can’t really fail. All I mentioned above will come naturally if you have this. Don’t believe me? Let me ask you something.
Have you ever fallen in love with a hobby? Maybe playing video games, collecting baseball cards, watching sesame street?
…you had a goal, you persevered.
Let’s use the video game as the example. You played it. You felt the passion for doing it. You strived to be better. You went online to check FAQs, cheats, how other people did it, how you can beat the high score and so on. You tried new things to get better, you focused your time on it, you thought about it even when sleeping, you had a goal, you persevered.
All for the sake of that game you loved.
It all came together…..naturally.
When people ask me,
“What do I need to start my online business? I have an idea and I want to give it a shot.”
I’ll ask them in return, “Would you enjoy it?”
They will probably say
“Yes, because I think (insert niche here) is a market I want to be in. It would be even better if it made me a good sum of money!”
My answer is, “There are seven things you have to know but you only NEED one thing…and you already have it.”
Then moving on to research, strategies, planning and implementation would be much easier.
Tell me, who wouldn’t develop passion about something if it is making you lots of money? Right? Well, I don’t know about you, but I would.

I agree about the passion part. I regularly talk with people who want me to help build them a website for their idea.. but their idea is only so they can get rich quick and then go home. A week or two later, they forget about it.
But I do know some other individuals who are so passionate about their business. They are the best and strive to get better simply because they love and believe in their product. It isn’t about making a quick buck. It is about loving what they do.
Hi Stephen! I agree with you. Most people that approach me usually just have ideas to make them some quick bucks. That’s human nature. BUT the one’s that do approach me and are ready and willing to learn are always the passionate ones and they stick with the “idea” longer and try to make the best out of it.
I know some people will disagree with only needing passion. I do know people that don’t really know anything about what their market is but they are succeeding in selling in it and making lots of money.

I’m just saying that passion makes it easier when you are starting from scratch. I’d like beginners to understand that because usually, when they fail, they blame everything but themselves and then quit.
I would agree Ceena that passion is the only thing needed because if you are passionate then you would want to pursue and learn about all those other vital things of business..
