HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INTERNET MARKETING TOOLS:
senuke Call It Courage...

Have the courage to be ignorant of a great number of things, in order to avoid the calamity of being ignorant of everything.

Sydney Smith
English essayist (1771 – 1845)

courageI had a lot of free time today so I decided to take a stroll to the neighborhood telecommunication office to ask about a new service they were offering. While I was talking to my friend that was the manager of that branch office, I noticed an old Chinese lady(probably around 60) trying to talk with the customer service person.

The lady couldn’t speak the local language, only Fujian hwa, a Chinese language common in the southern parts of China. The customer service person was getting frustrated because they both can’t understand each other and wrote a letter and told the lady to get someone that can come and translate for her.

I approached the lady even if they told me I shouldn’t bother. What they didn’t know was that I could speak Fujian. The lady told me she came to report a broken phone line. That it was very important for her because she is trying to make a living selling juice in tetra packs. She said she only had one phone line and she is trying to ask the customer service person to schedule a repair.

She was such a nice old lady and I admire her for having the guts to go to a country where nobody knows her language. Starting a business and then trying to make a living out of it. I was in awe.

I told them what she said and filed the report. Everything was settled and everyone was happy. No bloodshed or tempers flaring. We separated ways after that and maybe we would cross paths again someday.

The lesson? No, it’s not “the Chinese are taking over the world.”

Imagine if you were in her position, you had no other way to survive but to just do something about it. You are already better equipped than she is. You already have technology on your side. You are so much younger. You only need to take the first step, and take serious, massive action to change your life and start with lifestyle design.

People might say she’s stupid, or ignorant, or even crazy to do that. Well if you were better than her, shouldn’t you be doing something to help and teach people like her? Now why is she teaching you something you should already know and have?

She’s not stupid and it’s not about being ignorant. She has something that most don’t have, I call it courage…

…and you should use yours if you have some in you.

Great post! So many times, we opt for comfort and become frozen when opportunity strikes. Rather than become immobilized, we need to reach down deep, ask the big and great questions, and pay attention to our possibilities, not our pessimism.
